Quick and Easy Fondant Decorating Tips

I must admit I am a fool for fondant but I also like everything quick and easy.  Just because cakes and cupcakes decorated with fondant often look perfect, does not mean they are all difficult to create.  This post features my favorite quick and easy fondant tips. Take a look...

You can make your own fondant but Pre-Made Fondant is the quickest and easiest to use.  Here is a great video on how to cover a cake with fondant.

You can get that perfect fondant thickness with a 20" Wilton Fondant Rolling Pin.  It's easy to use, comes with 3 depth guide rings and is dishwasher safe.  Don't forget a Fondant Smoother.

It's not always necessary to cover your entire cake with fondant.  You might just want to add it as a topper type of decoration.  For a few of my favorite fondant cake and cupcake decorating ideas take a look at Wilton's Decorating Techniques.  You can also create fun shapes with fondant punch kits and cut-outs.  However, purchasing different themed kits can become very expensive.  I have a fondant punch but mostly like to use Wilton's fondant shaping tools and a small fondant rolling pin.  If you are going to use pre-made fondant, I personally think Satin Ice Fondant tastes the best and is available in a variety of colors.
Last but not least, take a look at Wilton's tips on Covering Boards with Fondant.  Applying this simple tip can turn a good looking cake into an amazing looking cake.

Want even more quick and easy fondant decorating ideas?  Then The Cake Decorator's Motif Bible is just what you need.  It features 150 amazing Fondant Designs.  There are simple instructions, illustrated templates, and large color photographs. This book is wire-bound and lies flat for easy use.
